The Inquiry Initiative, which involves an inquiry-based learning and teaching approach to preschool to university education, began in 2015 In the past, the program included (a.) professional development sessions for preK to college educators on inquiry-based learning, (b.) contributing updated books and computers to school libraries in order to enhance inquiry possibilities, and (c.) research on teachers’ perceptions of inquiry as a stance for learning. Past professional development sessions have been funded by the International Literacy Association; Going Global, Inc.; New Literacies Collaborative of the Friday Institute for Educational Innovation; Longview Foundation; North Carolina State University Office of Global Engagement; University of Missouri-St. Louis Global; University of Missouri-St. Louis Office of Research; and University of Missouri-St. Louis College of Education.
